  • Pumpkins are not only a fall décor item, but they are rich with nutrients. Pumpkin contain the following nutrients:
    • Beta Carotene – Helps maintain healthy eyesight, builds immunity, and has shown offer protection from cancer.
    • Potassium - the mineral necessary for water balance that will lessen such things as muscle cramps.
    • Vitamin C - which boosts the immune system
    • Calcium – Required to overcome high blood pressure, heart attack prevention, and building strong bones.
    • Fiber – Can aid in preventing heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Gallstones and Kidney stones.
  • When picking out a pumpkin you want to check for soft spots. This is a sign that the pumpkin is old and is already beginning to rot. Avoid choosing a pumpkin with soft spots.
